Our Roots

Rooted in Hanover

As you round the top of the hill and cruise down Main Street in Hanover, Kansas, something unexpected might catch your eye— a bright coral door framed by windows overflowing with flowers and greenery. Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by the comforting aroma of freshly brewed espresso, the sound of friends swapping stories, and the kind of warmth you only find in a small town.

This little place has lived in my imagination for years—a daydream turned reality when I was given the chance to bring it to life in my own hometown. I named her The Farmer’s Daughter.

Being a Farmer’s Daughter isn't really about farming at all. Sometimes, it means carrying the weight of a last name and the responsibility of being the only child. Sometimes, it means humbly waiting your turn, following in line, and honoring tradition. And sometimes…it means creating something new outside the farm gates — like a little coffee, flower, and gift shop on Main Street.

This shop has always carried roots in this community as a flower and gift shop (my grandma worked here back in 1996!), but when coffee—my longtime love—joined the mix, she bloomed into something new. Here, we’ve created a space where you can linger over a latte with a loved one, pick out a gift that speaks from the heart, or dream up flowers for the most meaningful days of your life. And on certain nights, you’ll find us gathering as neighbors and friends, celebrating the kind of community that makes places like Hanover so special.

The Farmer’s Daughter is more than a shop—it’s a piece of our story, and now, yours too. Because being a Farmer’s Daughter is equal parts grit and grace, tradition and reinvention, coffee and calluses, roses and roots. And at the end of the day — no matter how far you fly from the nest— the soil still knows your name.

We can’t wait to see what memories are made here and are excited to show you everything we have up our sleeves for the years to come. Welcome to our little corner of the universe.
